Pokemon Will Eventually Take Over The World Since the early days of Nintendo’s “Pokemon”, there has been one question that every potential trainer young or old has asked, “What if you can catch pokemon in the real world?” Ever since the announcement in late 2015, the whole world has been on edge waiting for the day they can twist around their baseball caps and take off on their own personal adventure. Through their ad released in 2015, Nintendo tries to appeal to mostly their loyal fans, but give the ad a sense of unity to where non fans felt just as excited.

Almost all of the ad is shot during the day, save for the end where a group of people try to defeat Mewtwo. In the opening scene, we see the words, “Imagine Pokemon In The Real World.” with images of young adults in putting on clothes, lacing up their sneakers, and putting on their ball caps. To ordinary viewers this seems fairly normal, but to avid Pokemon fans it’s a dream come true.
In the shot with a young women exploring what looks like ruins, it sets up a sense of adventure and excitement. It draws the consumer in by saying, “If you play our game you’ll be able to explore more places and find adventure!”
The ad tries to pull in the parental crowded when our attention is focused on a Father and daughter trying to catch a Charizard behind a rock, the body language between the two make it seem as if the father is sharing something that he enjoys deeply with his daughter while trying to bond with her. When the two meet up with the young women from the ruins to trade, the three appear to make a sudden connection over the game. In the end of the ad, players rush through the streets trying to join the battle of Mewtwo. Players of all races, age, and gender gather in pure adrenaline screaming and encouraging their Pokemon to help bring down the health power of the Legendary Mewtwo. When the screens flash “ GOTCHA! Mewtwo was caught!”
