The power of one is the idea that every single individual has the ability to make a difference in their organization or community. Any individual has the potential to create change; with enough influence people are able to lead a major movement in society. The reason that the power of one works is because it ends up being the power of all. It 's like a domino effect that once one person starts it, everyone else starts to jump in slowly. People can win over others just with their influence which is a great tool for without much power. In George Couros article of (“Connected Learning”) he states five characteristics for the change agent. Clear vision as in communication with others, Patience, Ask tough questions, knowledgeable and leads by example, strong relationships with trust. By doing this you can get things done faster and better. It is like having many clones and being able to rely on someone else is a good trait to learn. It establishes trust and loyalty amongst humans, some of the most basic traits of people as a society. As stated by Brian Tracy a person must be motivated to do something to actually be able to help you. Every human is motivated by something and the person that is trying to win them over should be able to find out what it is. Many great leaders find commonplace with the people either through oppression or hate. Many people who are oppressed do not want much but fair human rights and that is why their motivation is so high. Once one brave individual speaks out for the weak everyone follows. Many examples throughout history have occurred due this and may still occur in the future.
