Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.

Anne Frank’s Character Development Throughout the War Throughout World War II Anne Frank was kept hidden away in a 500 square foot building they came to call the Secret Annexe. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daans endured difficult times of hunger, thirst, and lack of privacy cornered by walls for over two years. Anne confided her observations and feelings of the hard times within her diary she named Kitty. By writing in her diary both before and after the war, one could visibly notice how Anne went into the Annexe as a juvenile and came out as a young adult.
I think that the most disturbing part of Anne Frank's story was that Anne and Margot died just a month before the camp they had been sent to, Bergen-Belsun was liberated. I think that this is the most disturbing part because for two years Anne had tremendous courage and she was so close to freedom. In Anne's diary she writes, "I can shake off everything as I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is born. " The story of Anne Frank is disturbing all around, but the fact that she could not live to see who she would become is devastating to me. Although Anne's story is cruel, some outcomes aren't.
The 1940s were a crucial time all over the world with hardships and wars going on for years. Within these wars, two little girls that have been apart of it their whole lives, have shared their experiences through a diary and a book of stories. Farewell to Manzanar is a book based on a girl named Jeanne Wakatsuki who is seven years old at the time, and gets taken away with her family to Manzanar encampments, as the U.S. government doesn’t want to risk any Japanese Americans possibly giving up information to the Japanese as they are at war with them. Resistance in the Holocaust It was difficult to resist oppression during the Holocaust, but some people did, both actively and passively. Active resistance is physically arming yourself to fight for something you believe in. However, many opted for passivity to fight Nazi ineffable cruelty and injustice more discreetly. In “The Diary of Anne Frank”, “Violins of Hope”, and “Resistance during the Holocaust” we read about various acts of passive resistance. People can best respond to conflict by passively resisting because such acts maintain human dignity, preserve cultures, and give the best chance at survival.
Identifying conflict in people's lives is necessary and, overcoming it can be hard, but once people achieve it, peace and comfort will be available. There are many different areas of conflict that people can encounter during the course of an average day. For example, In The Diary of Anne Frank, Anne Frank stated that in the heat, she has to walk everywhere because the Jews were restricted from driving streetcars. An example is "we Jews are no longer allowed to make use of this luxury, our own two feet are good enough for us." Additionally, people also experience conflict and from time to time, usually, solving it with violence, yelling, and physical contact.
Selfish in the way that he believed that he could take that war and make movie scenes out of it. Giving the impression as if he does not see the gravitate of how that one dreaming mistake can have on someone’s
4th grade was the first time I read “The Diary of a Young Girl.” Even as a ten-year-old without much exposure to world history, and U.S. history beyond its most basic level, I empathized with a young girl not much older than I who, as a result of persecution, had to go into hiding or would otherwise face death. In eighth grade, I read the play adaptation of this diary in my English class, and we were told to write an essay on this question: “If you were in the place of those in hiding, what would you miss most?” For some reason, this question has stuck with me throughout the years. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a question most people want to avoid.
The most important thing that the Franks and Van Daans went through was a time of fear. No matter how much happiness came through in their lives they always had fear jumbled up inside their heads. As the Frank family and the Van Daans were cooped up in the annex- the place of hiding they were practiclly shocked and very fearful of the Nazi’s. Being fearful was something that came upon them and was totally normal for a person to have like the Franks and Van Daans, because everyone is fearful no matter what type of predicament their trapped in.
