Ms. Clark, I know you have been thinking about uniforms for the school and I respect your opinion: but, I believe the uniforms will do more harm than good. I have looked at many websites finding many facts and statistics for and against uniforms. As I look at the different sites I keep seeing the same things over and over again. The websites keep talking about how uniforms are too expensive and restrictive. They can affect kids’ self-image and it continues to talk about how uniforms are just plain uncomfortable. Uniforms may be good in some sense, but can affect kids in big ways. Uniforms come in lots of different sizes, colors, and designs to match your specific school uniform; but the one thing they don’t come in, is cheap prices. Uniforms are very expensive especially if you have more than one kid. Child and teen development specialist Robyn Silverman states. “This is a huge problem, uniforms are supposed to help keep that kind of thing away from people and make everyone feel equal and the same; but, kids have found a way to get around that and make each other feel bad about their bodies, causing them to want someone else's. If uniforms aren’t doing what people want and if school kids have found a way to get around what they are trying to prevent, then why keep uniforms? Kids will still face bullying and will still face self-image problems… uniforms will just speed up the
