Professional Philosophy Statement As a kinesiology major, I believe the knowledge orientation is the most valuable. I believe the knowledge orientation is most valuable because you have to have the knowledge to apply it to your situation. I strongly believe that knowledge is power and is essential to every career field. Therefore, I can guarantee you that every day when I come to work I am going to be reliable, friendly, helpful, and loyal. Working towards a kinesiology major as an undergraduate student I will obtain a B.A. in kinesiology. After completion, I will head off to graduate school with the goal of earning a doctoral degree in physical therapy. Then I will proceed and take the National Physical Therapy Examination. The main reason is physical therapists help rehabilitate people which helps improve their quality of life. Helping people through rehabilitation not only improves physical ability but can also decrease pain and improve injuries to make surgery unnecessary. When it comes to rehab the individual is important but the outcome is the focal point of the profession. Within this profession, positive outcomes are one of the ways you can measure your success. The process is very important because without it you will not have a great product. While in physical therapy you have to follow the process in order to receive the product you want. Within this role, I will be a role model and friend. I will be involved with private practices and nursing homes, working with people of all ages to rehabilitate and return to their normal activities of daily life. When it comes to evaluation and motivation I have a couple of ways to go about these. For evaluation, I will remind them of where they were when we started and compare it to where they are now. As for motivation, I will remind them that hard work does pay off and every little step has a key role in the progress to achieve the final
