7.0 Professional Reflection
As a generic process conventionally used by virtually every instructional designer, the ADDIE model undoubtedly represents a dynamic, flexible guideline that can be utilized to build effective training and performance support tools for learners. The five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation attempt to provide a wide range of benefits to learners and instructors, such as saving time and money by identify areas for improvement during the learning process. The use of an instructional design system for creating training or instruction helps save time and money for all stakeholders, such as GEICO employees and instructional designers. With the emergence of new or innovative techniques for delivering course content or learning materials, instructional design models provide instructors and organizations to ensure workplace flexibility. Throughout the course, I realized that an instruction design system enables an instructor to identify the most effective instructional delivery platform. This not only increases the relevance of the training, but also enhances the overall learning experience. Another important benefit presented by the use of an instructional design system is related to the enhanced ability of an instructional designer to adjusting learning materials, objectives, and activities based on the results of a formative evaluation. In the case of my online training site, I had to modify the training materials to match the pillars outlined by the Sloan-C Common Course Elements Rubric, the feedback from my instructor, and the results of the survey by my beta
