Professionalism in the workplace means that an individual shows consideration and respect towards others and demonstrates a commitment to the profession. In the nursing profession, nurses must work together with other healthcare professionals to provide well-organized care for the patient. Therefore teamwork is very crucial to facilitate effective communication and promote positive patient outcomes. Communication is very important when working as a team; knowing when or what to say is important for our patient care. The chain of command is the line of authority and responsibility along which orders are passed within the nursing department, hospital, and different units. Effective communication includes listening skills followed by an organized and logical approach. Clarity and conciseness should be used to give and receive good feedback. Good communication makes patients feel valued. One of the most important things is to give the patient enough time to express themselves.
