The testing of animals creates more horror stories that should be examined from the standpoint of humanization. It is not morally alright to experiment on animals especially since they have to undergo horrific suffering.

Animal testing is almost always unethical and unnecessary. About 95% of this testing has been done for household and cosmetic products with only the remaining 5% performed for medical research.
Are you aware that over a million animals are killed just for household and cosmetic products each year? The U.K., Netherlands and Belgium right move as well having banned the cosmetic testing. Animals have been subject to cruel conditions and efforts are being made to save the animals from being killed helplessly. With the already available in vitro (test tube) alternatives and sufficient existing safety data, sadly to say, more unethical, inhumane, and unnecessary animal testing are still being performed for cosmetics and household products.
The list of the name of the tests gives you some vivid pictures of what these poor animals go through. The tests include Phototoxicity & Photosensitisation, Eye irritancy, Mutagenicity, Short-term Toxicity, Skin Irritancy, Skin Sensitization, Skin Penetration, Reproductive Toxicity, Whole Body, Carcinogenicity, Teratogenicity and Finished Product Testing, just to name a few of the tests often carried out on animals.
In the Draize eye-and skin irritation test, the rabbit’s eyes are dripped or smeared with a substance or onto their shaved skin causing them to be immobilized in full-body restraints. During this experiment, the rabbits scream in pain and may even try to break their necks as they strain to get themselves free from this cruel
