Animal Testing for Medical Purposes

Without animal testing many important medical advances would not have been made. Animal testing can help the human medical field and the veterinary medical field make many more great advancements. Animal testing is still necessary today because, it is the most reliable source of medical testing, the lives of few animals can save many more human and animals lives, and currently employs many people in the animal testing industry. Of the many reasons why we still use animals testing the reliability of the testing is undeniable. Animals and humans actually share many biological traits and are very similar(Chang, 2). Animals are needed for testing because they are the best way to determine what effect the drug would have on a living organism(Chang, 2). Many countries also find animal testing to be the best way to check if the drug is safe for human trials. They often require animal testing(Burnett, 3).
