I agree that officers have a stressful and demanding job. I think that the police needs to know how the community and the board sees them. Sometimes the truth hurts and in this case it may but they need to know. I think your idea on having officers at community events is a great idea. Showing that the officers care makes the community respect their authority more.
Three Kansas City police score unit officer’s Jeffrey M. Bell, Dustin Sillings, and Darryl M. Forrest were charged with theft of federal government property, conspiracy against rights and deprivation of rights under color of the law. The Kansas City police officer were caught by FBI (Federal bureau of Investigation). The Kansas City police officers stole several items and cash in a house that had surveillance cameras during a staged sting operation. The type of situation always makes people wonder what would make these people want to do something like this? Why would the officers discarded their commitment to the city to protect and serve as they swore to do so?
Once hired as an active officer, the individual must complete 40 hours of in-service, advanced, specialized, or career development training every 4 years including retraining in use of force and firearms qualification. The promotional opportunities and assignments for the TPD are a permanent elevation in rank from Police Officer to Detective/Corporal or Police Detective/Corporal to Police Sergeant, or Police Officer to Police Flight Officer, etc. For assignments, the position of School Resource Officer, Chief Pilot, Flight Supervisor and any acting position is deemed to be assignments and the assignments to or transfer from such position goes directly to the Chief of Police. One area of the TPD that got my attention was the Police Athletic League (PAL). This was organized as a crime prevention enterprise dealing with juvenile crime and violence through education, academically, and athletically based around sports resources.

State Patrol During the last few weeks, I have been with the Missouri State Patrol and have seen some of the pros and cons of the agency. There are always cons with the job that people do not like the pay or some of the work that is required for them to do. From what has been seen the abuse of power or believing they are above the law and can do what they want.
Being a State Trooper is a risky but rewarding job. State Trooper duties vary from many different jobs. I have a complaint, and wish a legal ruling prior to allowing a Correctional Officer to become involved in a legal battle or worse yet, injured: Currently, the Department of Corrections has the authority and directives for Officers to use force within the building or confines of their building. In some instances, where perimeter patrols are on duty, use of force directives apply. There are strict directives for Certified Officers to use force. When certified as a PTO and off institutional grounds these directives again apply. Moreover, these directives apply directly to those inmates who are property remand into the custody of the State.
When I visited the Freehold Police Department I interviewed Adam, a police officer in the traffic enforcement. Adam has been working in this field 2 years and stated that the most important qualifications needed to succeed in this job included an associate degree, go to high school, and go to college graduating with that degree. These qualifications allowed him to perform the duties of being in the traffic enforcement, qualifying of life issues, helping with drug problems because it has begin a big problem in this world. Mostly, heroin is being used by citizens which is a big problem throughout the state. But also there is an nasal spray called Narcan which the police and ambulance carry to reverse the drug.
State Trooper Career Law enforcement is a system by which members of society act in an organized manner to enforce the law and rules governed by society. By, investigating, rehabilitating, or punishing people who violate the rules and norms governing that society (Wikipedia). I will want to be a Maryland State Trooper agent. Being a Trooper agent will give me more opportunity to give back to my community and help protect and serve people of my country and my state. I’ve seen that there are many different types of Maryland law enforcement career opportunities from being a part of the local police officer to, larger field of federal agencies that are out there.
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Officers (EMPO) finds themselves in constant physical, emotional and psychological challenging situations. Such situations make it possible to assume that professionals working within the Metro Police too long could be more susceptible to trauma, depression, suicide ideation than professionals in less demanding situations. The fact that metro police are usually the first people at a crime scene makes them first responders and crisis workers who absorb the traumatic stress from acute reactions of those they help (Burger 2011). This puts them at risk of experiencing vicarious trauma, also known as compassion fatigue, police stress, secondary victimization, secondary traumatic stress, secondary survivor stress and
Federal employee benefits are based on federal guidelines, while state officers are paid based on state government pay schedules. For example, officer benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, pensions and health, dental and life insurance coverage, according to the California Employment Development Department. Overall the reason why I chose this path is because of how it inspires me to help other who need it the most. As a kid I watched countless movies of superheroes trying to help the world or their communities and that what I want to do is help people with their second chance so the will not go back into
Another disadvantage is ¨A work week is 50 hours a week or more¨(Criminal Justice). In conclusion it is very hard but fun to becoming a federal
USA Protection I am considering one of the two options. I am leaning more towards the state patrol. I would really enjoy this job and thats why Im researching both of these jobs. Male officers have also stated negative remarks about female officers who work in Law Enforcement. These barriers have caused female police officers to resign from their positions to avoid any issues and because gender discrimination and the other complaints aren’t taken seriously in Law enforcement. By the females constantly compared to the male police officers has caused stress on them. It’s much harder for woman to advance in Law enforcement than men and when interviewers make their decisions they are more than likely choose men over women. It is important to think critically when dealing with the barriers discussed above because it can be challenging and cause someone to give up and quit.
