Pros And Cons Of Block Scheduling

Our school, Central Regional High School, has put into action for next year the most idiotic thing ever, block scheduling. There are numerous versions of block scheduling and most are just all around bad. Some versions include having 4 classes half of the year and 4 different classes the other half or yu have 4 classes on Mon.,Wed.,Fri, and 4 different ones Tues.,Thurs. I believe our school is doing the 2nd option also known as the AB block. In my opinion, this is ludicrous for being passed through and I am definitely against this. Block scheduling is going to make it so much harder to make it through the day because the periods are know extending and are basically doubling in time. Since we are having fewer classes a day that means less time in the halls. So what happens to those 16 mins we lose each day? They get stripped from the students and are recycled into the classes to extend the time. They could at least extend our lunch time or make Homeroom possibly longer. Everyday in 2nd period I find myself glancing at the clock like it is going to talk to me or something. I have been always in advanced placement and have never gotten anything lower than a B in my life. My big question is why is the school doing this? I believe they are doing this to somehow save money so somebody high up in the school system can get a raise. I believe if this new schedule provides the school with extra money that we should ninest it back into the school. Maybe have each student get a personal chromebook for their own leisure. Possibly we can get new things for classes to advance our learning within them. Simple things such as more motivational assemblies or even to fix some things up around the school and make it a better learning environment for
