Eugenic The capabilities of our scientific technology has been exponential growing for the past 100 years. We are able to genetically modify bacteria to make insulin, clone sheep, and perhaps, one day even be able to genetically modify our offspring. However, the real question is should I play God and create the generation of humanity in our image? The applications of eugenic I believe need to be tended with the upmost, so humanity does not become a victim of their own mentality. Eugenic on a population level can have detrimental consequences. Nazi Germany was fixated on purifying the German blood. Their radical ideology lead them to commit crimes against humanity. People were forced into marriages to keep their blond hair blue eye lineage strong, and others had sterilization forced upon them, effectively eliminating their genetic diversity. Jewish people were sent to the gas chambers and the lucky ones were forced to work in concentration camps until they died. Hilter’s intention was to make Nazi as diverse as elephant seals. Furthermore, the lack of genetic diversity would increase the probability that a population would go to fixation.
