What should be the legal drinking age in the United States? When you are 18 you can go off to war and die for you country but not have a beer. In my opinion I think that it should be 21 if the decide the move everything up with it or turn it to 19 because you are out of high school and there is not that thrill of doing it. They say that drinking can harm your brain if you over use and abuse it. What happened when people brought the drinking age up to 21 back.
The drinking age can stay the same if they are willing to move the other aspects up such as buying chew, smokes, or how old you have to be to join. We are legally at 18 considered adults and able to make our own decisions but we are still not able to make our decisions. We are not able to drink at 18 years old but instead 21. We should have people getting to know the effects of drinking. Just as Germany has their drinking law that they start off letting you drink at 16 with but cannot drink spirits until 18. They integrate it in before you can drive so you know the effects of drinking.
