Physician-assisted suicide is a widely controversial issue that is discussed in today society. There are debates over whether it is ethically correct or whether assisted suicide should be legalized for the terminally ill. Each side of the arguments have different viewpoints concerning individual aspects of physician-assisted suicide. Such as certain guidelines that should exist if legalized. Advocates of physician-assisted suicide argue that it should be legal under circumstances such as great suffering through terminals illness. However, no matter what the circumstance is, physician-assisted suicide is not a good remedy for terminally illness and therefore should not be legalized. Determining right from wrong is that its non-consequentialist and therefore it is relatively quick and easy to calculate as there are no exceptions. However a large flaws is that completely ignoring the outcomes or our actions seems slightly irresponsible as outcomes are of at least some importance when arriving at a moral decision however infinitely hard when they are to be calculate. Depression is one of the major concerns among the elderly especially when there dying. Many health care workers that work among the elderly are not trained to spot the signs and symptoms of geriatric depression. Depression has been shown to link a quicker health decline among elderly who are depressed and with depression comes the risk of suicide. Nursing homes or hospice is an institution, public or private, which is used for specialized care for the chronically ill or elderly individuals who can no longer take care3 of their selves. Aged people develop body and mental complications which might make the person not suitable to stay in a hospital or at home due to the complexity of the aliment.
