One solution would be to get rid of the death penalty. Many fellow Americans would be happy if their taxes went at least a little bit down. Another solution would be just to give the criminal life in prison. According to the book The Death Penalty written by JoAnn Bren Guernsesy, it states that "They say that too much money is wasted on trying and executing prisoners and that the state can never be sure it is not mistakenly executing an innocent person". All this money that is being to waste on a innocent person can be used for something that we actually need. My plan is to get rid of the death penalty and make sure every criminal will be put behind bars forever. Just imagine how much money we will the saving. The things the we need for government to take action such as fix roads or built more schools can come from this money. It is a proven fact that its more money to kill someone than keeping them behind in bars. I do understand the people who do want the criminal to die just the victim but killing isn't always the answer. Guernsesy also mentions that "The past 30 years have shown that permanent imprisonment succeeds where the death penalty fails". Not only am I providing my own opinion but these are facts that the state of California has tested it. Killing the criminal would just bring painful emotions for the family. After they acknoledge our petition we can go ahead and work with them in removing the death penalty in the states that still have it. It won't be easy but if I get enough of people to sign and make a big deal out of it, it would catch the news attention. After removing Capital Punishment I will work with congress to see if they can pass a law and start building rehilibatation centers for crimianls. Hopefully they would actually practice the amendments how they should and never misuse their power in killing
