“Some shall be pardon’d, and some punished;/For never was a story of more woe/ Than this of Juliet and her Romeo”(V.iii.320-322). Love. Death. They may seem like complete opposites, but what if they were not as far apart as you may think. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, written by the famous play writer William Shakespeare, there are two rival families; the Capulets and the Montagues. This feud gets in the way when Romeo, a Montague, is encouraged to go to the Capulet’s ball by his friends in order to clear his mind over a recent heartbreak and ends up meeting Juliet, a Capulet, and is instantly head over heels with her. A new day has come and that morning in the streets of Verona, a fight breaks out between Tybalt and Mercutio, turning deadly when Tybalt kills Mercutio, leading to many other bad events. Next thing we know Romeo has killed Tybalt in order to get revenge and for that the Prince banishes Romeo from Verona. This news is upsetting to Juliet, but the Capulets do not know the real reason she is down, so in an effort to make her feel better they order a wedding for her and Paris to be earlier, adding on to the overwhelmed feelings Juliet already has. She then goes to Friar Laurence to ask if there is anything she can do and he will come up with a plan that consists of a potion that will make her appear dead, Friar will send a letter to Romeo telling him the plan, but when it does not get delivered, Romeo goes to the apothecary to buy poison that he will use to kill himself. When Juliet wakes up to this sight she uses Romeo’s dagger to kill herself as well. While several characters share the blame for the deaths of the star-crossed lovers, the guiltiest of all is Friar
