We all value the things we buy. We buy new things every day. We admire the logo, the style, the color, the fabric, whatever it is, we understand why we like our clothes and have our own reasons for buying them. But do we understand where they came from? How they were made? Who made them? Was the whole thing made at the same place? Did it cost much to make my piece of clothing? And did the person who made it get paid well? We may not all think about thinks like this. But It is important to raise awareness in hope that we can make a shift in how we get our clothing. Some of the production lines that create our clothing are often not paid a fair wage and create pollution. Just some things to think about.

Ralph Lauren was started in 1967 and is now a big time publicly traded company in the United States. Its main location is in New York. How ever there clothes are made all over. From here to Haiti, all over the world Ralph Lauren has factories all over the world.
My piece of clothing came from Indonesia. Tons of places make polo but not many places are allowed. A of the polo you may see is actually an off brand of polo. Indonesia has a contract with America to make clothes.
My piece of clothing is my Polo sweatshirt. It is all blue and has an American Flag design through out the sweatshirt. What …show more content…

However there are some things I don’t like about it. Like where it came from, how much it was made for, and how much money they made off me. I understand that if things were made here they would be more expensive but that doesn’t make it okay for us to take advantage of other country’s and just act like its okay. We have this idea that because it is a capitalist thing to do and we can make tons of profits, as long as we do it by the rules (laws), that it is socially okay. If we take the time to think about if we would make that same sweatshirt, or probably 40 of those sweatshirts for about $5 dollars a day. Most would say no
