Do you think that individuals should be prosecuted for statements made on social media? Technology is becoming a huge part of daily lives of teens. Cyberbullying is a very important topic to speak upon. By the results of a survey in 2006, we got to know that every 1 in 3 teens are a victim of cyberbullying. There are two sides to this topic which are that individuals should be prosecuted or should be trained.
Someone might argue that if people do nothing against cyberbullying then it might lead to physical violence and that shouldn’t happen. In source 3 it states “ the lack of immediate emotional feedback in cyberbullying allows aggressors to often continue the hurtful behavior unchecked.” This tells us that cyberbullying happens and often continues because they don’t have emotional feedback from being there and unlike cyberbullying people “immediately see the hurt they have caused to the target” which most people wouldn’t do. What should happen is cyberbullying prevention in schools to deter people from and warn others of the effects of cyberbullying. In source 1 it states “And bypassing the Prevention Act, we’re deterring people from engaging in cyberbullying by showing such behavior punishable by crime that won't be tolerated” although I don’t agree with the punishable by crime statement I do think that people should be warned and deterred from cyberbullying in
Due to the increase of technology, it has become increasingly easy for students to bully each other on social media or by e-mail. This new method of communication allows students to make fun and belittle others anonymously, behind a computer screen. Cyberbullying has become increasingly prominent at local schools but despite the disruptions it may cause, schools should not be allowed to limit online speech. Cyberbullying does not affect the majority of people, it is not the most terrible offense and it happens oftentimes outside of school.
(Paragraph 8). With bullies i the real world we can stop them because we see who it is. With bullies at school o another physical place they can or will physically harm the child, but mental trauma from cyberbullies is even harder to cope with. We need a law against the cruelty towards others in all states if it 's for children or adults.
Social responsibility is any person or company must help or act for society in which they live . A person or company must act responsibility as it is there duty in order to make sure that they keep a balance between the ecosystem and the economy. Employment equity is that groups of people such as religious groups such as Jews, Muslims and Christians or groups of race whether Black, White, Coloured or Indian or an individual sex such as female or male do not suffer discrimination when being hired for a job position. Business ethics is all about trust and to make sure trust happens in the business world between markets and the consumers. By having good business ethics it also helps the public accept the company.
Secondly, there are more major crimes, such as murder and theft, than cyberbullying. Why waste your time having to go to the courtroom because of cyberbullying? “Moreover, the idea that hurt feelings, justify criminal prosecution at all is an offensive use of the criminal justice to prosecute minor crimes, ultimately wasting judicial time and taxpayer resources (Sigmon, 2011).” Now you may think that it’s okay to cyberbully or bully in any other ways because you know that it’s a waste of time. No it’s still not okay, because even the thought of being prosecuted may seem ridiculous,
Feelings or Fiction?Lavallee Gerard Manley Hopkins once wrote, ? That nothing can be old or borrowed however cannot be.?1 He is a poet that is considered to have written classic poetry for religious and nature poems. Hopkins believed that all poets should have some originality.
Individuals should be prosecuted for statements on social media. Individuals should be prosecuted because they are cyber bullying other people. Cyber bullying can cause other people’s feelings to be hurt. To start off, cyber bullying is very dangerous. According to Source 1: Radio Interview, Brett Warnke states, “Cyber bullying can also lead to kids getting physically injured.”
Laws such as the one discussed in the article are extremely vital to end cyber bullying in our society. Without laws like these, in many cases, bullies could get away with their terrible, harmful actions because of previous loop holes and gray areas. Thankfully, these laws have made many people think twice before becoming a cyber bully. Personally, I have seen a number of my peers decide against posting a harassing comment on social media, due to fear of the consequences that these laws are enforcing.
People don 't understand that calling someone else a name or something else harmful can really hurt them and some kids take that seriously. Anyone that is doing this should be prosecuted for doing this because they are purposefully hurting another person. It can lead to physically getting injured. Kids need to understand that behavior like cyber bullying will not be tolerated. It hurts kids and they should be prosecuted for cyber
Should cyberbullies be prosecuted by a court of law for their statements made on social media? Many feel that they should be prosecuted because they have self harmed innocent victims. Bullying is a very concerning issue, but cyberbullying is sometimes and in most cases worse than regular bullying. Others believe that it goes with the first amendment and they can say what they want to.
Another key reason that schools should not punish off-campus cyberbullying is that students have a right to free speech. As Upfront has made clear, “In more than one case, courts have ruled that schools can’t limit students’ online posts when they’re outside of class unless the messages cause a “substantial disruption” at school.”. Upfront’s point is that as long as this is not causing a problem at school, then the school can’t limit what students are saying. This proves the point because it show that student have a right to free speech by proving that their free speech is important. Of course, it is possible to disagree with the view that students have a right to free speech and instead argue that students do not have a right to free speech.
The government's control over bullying in the cyber world should be the big issue and not in the real world. In a study by the Pediatrics, they found that bullying in the real world was cut by nearly half between the years 2005 and 2014. With the rise of social media outlets such as Facebook and Snapchat, Cyberbullying is on rising with 80% of students having a smartphone that they check on a regular basis (Do

To begin with, the criminal record affects the accused for the rest of their lives. Sayer said, “These are not the troubled kids we sometimes deal with…
The incidents were going unnoticed without any action or consequences for them but that all started to change once schools were being sued. Schools were being sued on the premises that never had involvement to stop and discipline the cyberbullying that was happening. The schools were sued and lost, making the schools liable for never helping the the students who needed it and were victims of
