Two challenges that the analysis system faces are lack of information and the relationship between analysts and collectors. Possible improvements have been presented by several authors. To overcome these two challenges, both analysts and collectors should learn the importance of wake-up calls. Analysts should gather information from all collection disciplines. Collectors should focus on analytically driven collection. From a management perspective, creation of an integrated collection system, focusing on Open Source Intelligence and internet sharing will allow analysts access to further data. Failure to obtain important information leads to negligence in answering the questions of policymakers. This challenge is caused by collectors not gathering enough information, analysts overlooking information when received, unavailable intelligence, among others. The analysis system is responsible for delivering correct information and conclusions. Analysts fail frequently when there is limited information that may be necessary and valuable in solving a possible detrimental issue.

The relationship between analysts and collectors is another challenge the analysis system faces. There is no solid relationship between analysts and collectors as analysts do not have the authority to oversee or decide what the collection system should deliver. Analysts also do not have much knowledge of the collections system which results in difficult communication between analysts and collectors. This will allow analysts of all backgrounds and specializations to contribute in answering questions surrounding intelligence such as what is occurring? What has changed and why? What can be done to solve the issue? These questions can lead to a decrease in information gaps. By guiding analytical products, Heuer suggests that expressing and accepting uncertainty is tolerable and alternatives should always be considered (182-3). This thought reminds both systems that they are only human. Information will not always be found and uncertainty will occur. Recognizing these facts should help improve the analysis system
