Animal Abuse
Everyday many animals who are a victim of abuse are killed or harmed. As a matter of fact, research done by scientists has provided information about the life span of animals. Compared to wild animals captive animals live shorter lives (Issitt). This is a concern because it shows that animals are not able to live as long as they can live in the wild. Keeping animals away from their natural habitats where they could thrive could be a reason why they don’t live long enough. People should understand that these animals are not capable of living their full lifespan in captivity, and it shows how cruel people can be to animals in the slightest way. Yet, these animals are used by humans for selfish reasons in many ways whether they are used for research or to make money. Alex Rich reveals how selfish humans are when it comes to taking care of animals when he states, “Puppy mills turn a profit by denying animals the food, water, shelter, and care they need to survive and thrive, because all of these things are expensive” (Rich). Animals such as tigers, elephants, and horses are only used for human pleasure and profit which is necessary for people (Issitt). Humans use animals for entertainment in zoos, aquariums, and circuses and to train them, these animals may have been abused. Just to make money they will hurt the animals to make them do tricks which is wrong. In summary, people use animals for their own benefits and leave the animals
