Animal Abuse: China vs United States As Louis J. Camuti once said, “Never believe that animals suffer less than humans. Pain is the same for them that it is for us. Even worse because they cannot help themselves.” People need to see that there is so much more to animals than just the fur on their skin and the meat on their bones. Animals have been able to save us humans from our worse times. Certain types of animals who help us with anxiety, depression, stress, or the fact of just having at least one loyal friend. Sadly, animal abuse occurs in China and the United States. The pain these animals go through are different, but the reasons for this harm are quite similar.

Abuse occurs everyday in both of these countries. In China, dogs have been consumed in for roughly 2,000 years. It’s estimated that 10-20 million dogs and approximately 4 million cats are killed every year. Some restaurants slaughter about 30 to 40 dogs a day. A lot of people raise their dogs and eventually eat them after having them for a couple of years. Animals in China are killed for their meat and fur. They extract bile from the gallbladders of living bears. They are abused to perform perfect stunts in circuses. Bones of endangered tigers are made into soup and wine. Cat meat is known to be good for women. China is the number one fur producer. People here will whip any animal who does not perform well or do tricks to impress crowds. Most of the animals in the U.S. are abused because people either want their meat or their fur. Some individuals abuse animals because they feel that it is the best way to release their aggression. Animals that come from animal farms are typically killed for money. Some animals never get the chance to see the outside world because they are kept in cages or because they are forced to breed
