Nikola Tesla was a truly ingenious man with many great discoveries. While getting in a war of the better electric current source with the renowned Thomas Edison was a very important point in his life. There were two things that affected him in an enormous way. These things were AC and DC power currents.
Nikola Tesla led a very notable yet very lonely life. He was born on July, 10th in the country of Croatia. He studied many years at three different universities. After spending some time after that as an electrical engineer at a telephone company he later started designing dynamos at the Continental Edison Company in Paris. But nobody in Europe showed interest in his ideas so he accepted a job offer to work with the one and only Thomas Edison in New York. He lived and worked here for a very long time but him and Mr. Edison didn't agree on something. The more powerful overall better form of current to use for electrical power.

Overall Alternating Current electricity was more efficient produced more energy and could be transported over long distances at a very cheap price. AC electricity trumped DC in many ways but Edison did his best to prove that Direct Current could be a better form of power. The so called War of the Currents went to several extremes over its course. Thomas Edison fried an elephant with 6,600 volts of AC electricity to show that it was dangerous. Another of the extremes was when the Nobel Prize committee was going to share the prize for physics between Edison and Tesla they both refused and neither of them received the reward because of their actions. At another time Edison offered to pay Tesla if he could prove that AC was a better form of electricity after doing so and saving Edison's company hundreds he went to claim his reward and Edison denied him of
