The title of the story is “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi.”The author of the story is Rudyard Kipling. The main character in the story (the protagonist) is named Rikki-Tikki and goes through a lot of battles throughout the story against the antagonists. Rikki-Tikki was a stray mongoose that a family found on the street and picked him up and took him home to a bungalow. 3 adjectives that I would use to describe Rikki-Tikki are brave, aware, and fast. Rikki-Tikki shows great bravery throughout the story as he fights many battles with the antagonists. The main antagonists are Nag and Nagaina. One of the smaller antagonists is Karait. Rikki-Tikki fights many great battles throughout the story with the antagonists. The main 2 antagonists that he fights with are Nag and Nagaina, but he does also have a conflict with Karait. Evidence from the story of Rikki-Tikki having great bravery is when Teddy, a child that lived in the family that adopted Rikki said “oh look here! He has bravery, for fighting many battles with the snakes such as Nag, Nagaina, and Karait. He shows awareness for knowing where Nag is and knows not to go to the wrong place at the wrong time. He also shows that he is fast with fast reaction times and running speeds as Nagaina was sneaking up behind him to kill him and as he got a warning from the bird, he wasted no time and jumped up into the air to save his life. Most mongoose don’t have as many impressive characteristics to do things like fight snakes and know exactly where they are so they don’t get killed by them by approaching them at the wrong place at wrong time, or having extremely fast reaction times to jump up in the air as something is sneaking behind him to save their lives.
