Statistics shows that bullying is different with males and females although the risk factors for bullying behaviour are similar. Male bullies are often bigger, more popular, and more aggressive than their victims are. Risk factors for bullying behaviour in males include impulsive behavoiur, an angry disposition, general aggression, and poor ability to cope with problems and frustration. Having poor problem solving skills is the reason many children resort to bullying. Male bullies often feel the need to be dominant and have a hard time empathizing with others as well. These risk factors for bullying do not guarantee that a male child will become a bully but they do indicate an increased risk for bullying behaviour.
Female bullies have similar risk factors for bullying behaviour although the way in which females bully each other is usually different. Females tend to use more social and psychological forms of bullying than physical forms. Girls tend to use mean comments and …show more content…

Children are very observant and they will imitate the language and actions of adults’ .Children who become bullies most of the time are the ones who witness situations where force or verbal outbursts are used to attain respect. The child/children do not understand that bullying other children is wrong. It’s what learned by the child through observing and imitating the actions of the adult.
A child or children who are bullies often come from a background where this type of behaviour is acceptable. The child/children grow up thinking that to get their way or to earn the respect of others he/she/they must resort to bullying. The onus therefore lies on the adults such as parents, teachers and guardians to ensure that children grow up with proper values and morals to become individuals filled with self confident and have a high self
