The classical tale starts off as King Richard takes the throne but soon leaves to lead the crusades in Jerusalem. During this war, King Richard was captured and held prisoner until a ransom was met by England. While the King was imprisoned, the Bishop of Ely took up the thrown as King Richard requested before he left. Although King Richards little brother, Prince John, wanted the throne to himself so he falsely accused the Bishop of treason and made him flee for his life to France. With nobody else to challenge him, Prince john takes the throne and rules mercilessly, charging the poor for taxes to save the king when in reality he uses it for his own. With no one to stand up to this selfish king the country was in desperate need for a hero, better yet, an outlaw.

As the years progressed his accuracy only increased. His confidence equaling his skills. One day his confidence got the best of him when he was headed to the king’s archery competition, in which the winner received the title of best archer in the land and won a grand prize.
