It is said that love is only a word until someone comes around and gives it meaning. But people don't just love their best friends the same way they love their wife. Both types of love are very meaningful but still very different. “The Ancient Greeks created four terms (Eros, storge, agape, and philia) to symbolize the four types of love” (TotesCute.com). Eros is an emotional and sexual love. Storge is a family or friendship love. Agape is the love for everyone. And philia is a deep friendship love. In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, all these types of love are seen between characters. The type of love between characters is important to the play and helps it move along.

The most prominent and important love in the play is between Romeo and Juliet. The entire play is revolved around their relationship with each other. Their love is categorized under Eros, they love each other on a deep emotional and sexual level. From the time they first meet, they believe they were meant to be together. The only problem is, they are apart of two different families that hate each other. But this does not stop them, they love each other so much that they are willing to go behind their parents and wish to get married. Perhaps the most meaningful and important of these type of relationships is the Nurse and Juliet's. Although the Nurse is not Juliet’s biological mother, she loves her and her actions and relationship with Juliet make her seem more like her mother than Lady Capulet (Juliet’s biological mother). When Lady Capulet is talking about marriage with Juliet, the Nurse interferes and says,
