Romeo and Juliet were from feuding families, despite being from opposing families they fell in love. The two got married in secret, by Friar Laurence. After killing Tybalt, Juliet’s cousin, he was banished. Juliet was being set up to marry another, Count Paris. To avoid marrying Paris she plans with Friar Laurence to fake her death, but when Romeo hears of her death he is unaware of it being fake. In the pain of losing Juliet and not wanting to be apart, he goes to her tomb, drinks poison, and kills himself. When Juliet awakes to see Romeo’s dead body, she stabs herself with a dagger and dies. For example, if the Capulets and Montagues weren’t enemies the two lovestruck teenagers wouldn’t have to hide. They could have taken the time and had a long happy life with each other. Instead, they got secretly married and lived a short time as husband and wife, which was filled with hate and hurt. If the families weren’t enemies Tybalt wouldn’t have challenged Romeo to a duel and killed Mercutio. This would mean that Romeo wouldn’t have killed Tybalt in anger and for revenge. This would have saved Romeo from being banished and Juliet's grief. Romeo is the one who made the decision to go to the ball and that’s where he met Juliet. He actively went after Juliet, even after knowing about her family and the consequences they may face. He then snuck onto her property to see her. Juliet came up with the idea to get married. If Romeo had waited and heard the whole story, he wouldn’t have drunk the poison, which caused his death. If Juliet would have taken a moment, grieved, but then got over Romeo’s death she would still be alive.
