Have you ever loved someone so much that you would die for them if you couldn't be with them? That happens in the story Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. It is one of his most popular plays. This shows Fate vs Free will because he's saying he has a bad feeling about going but he still went. He then sees Juliet and falls in love with her instantly, without knowing her or her name. Act three is when the prince banishes Romeo after he killed Tybalt. When Juliet finds out that Romeo was banished she says to herself “O, Fortune Fortune, all men call thee fickle. What is renowned for faith? Be fickle, Fortune, For then I hope thou wilt not keep him long, but send him back” (3.4.60-64). When Juliet says this, she believes that fate is unfair and thinks that fate controls everything. She is hoping that fortune will not keep her away from Romeo for too long because she doesn't think she can go so long without seeing him. Act five, which is the last act in the play, is when everything goes wrong in the story. When Juliet wakes up to Romeo dead, she kisses him to try to get poison off his lips to also die. When that does not work, Juliet grabs his dagger and before she stabs herself she says “Then I'll be brief. O, happy dagger, this is thy sheath: There rust, and let me die”
