Love at first sight is an awesome, overwhelming yet wonderful experience. So much that it raises the question, is there really such a thing as love at first sight? I believe that love, maybe not, but lust at first sight, most likely. Love itself is a complex and powerful feeling that is an ever growing and nurturing experience. It evolves into something greater than what first was. Therefore it cannot not happen all at once. Realistically, it is nearly impossible for substantive love to be based on sight.
When people fall for love immediately based upon sight, it leads to the start of the relationship stemming from only superficial means. As many know, it tends to be a cardinal rule to not base things on how they appear mainly because there is always more “beneath the surface”. Once the reality of what lies deeper than the superficial sets in there may be disappointment which can bring a great deal of stress and sadness upon the almost inevitable breakup. Men have difficulty distinguishing between physical attraction and love. Romeo is no different. Romeo demonstrates his susceptibility to visual stimuli before meeting Juliet, “Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
