“You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.” These are the words of the famous Rosa Parks. Today I am going to be talking about Rosa’s early life, her accomplishments, and her legacy. The first thing I will be talking about is her early life and childhood.
On February 4th, 1913 Rose Louise McCauley Parks was born in Tuskegee, Alabama (United States). At the age of two Rosa moved to Pine Level, with her parents James and Leona McCauley. Her brother, Sylvester was born in 1915, after that her parents got separated. When her parents got separated, Rosa went with her mother and Rosa’s brother lived with her dad. When she was a young child, she was usually sick most days so then she would not go to school. Rosa was educated in a rural school at the age of eleven in Pine Level. Once she finished rural school, her mom took her to Montgomery Industrial School for girls, mostly known as Miss. White’s School for girls, which is a private school. Once she was done school at Miss White’s school for girls, she went on to Alabama State Teachers College High School. But shortly after, she couldn’t graduate due to her grandmother Rosa Edward’s illness and later her death. She made a really big difference in the civil rights movement, Rosa believed that it was wrong to separate Africa-Americans. In 1955 she refused to give up her seat on a Montgomery, Alabama, city bus, Rosa Parks (1913-2005) helped begin the civil rights movement in the United States. When Rosa refused to give up her seat to help make room for white passengers, the bus driver ordered her to. Once the driver told her and yet she said no, the driver had arrested and so then she was sentenced of violating Montgomery’s Jim Crow segregation
