Through the years Thrive Healthcare has achieved great acknowledgement for its advancements in technology, for example, electronic documentation into the patient and members chart. However, there are still a number of departments that have not been transitioned or upgraded to the new documentation system. This has proven to be a risk as paper documentation can be misplaced, damaged and not legible for others. Furthermore, a number of internal systems are out dated in nature and are not user-friendly. This can cause for staff disengagement following the processes that are in place due to frustration with the systems, leading to them taking independent actions that can lead to mistakes, missed-steps and unstandardized process. In some cases lack of accountability and communication can prove as a weakness, when management is not following up on staff practices to ensure that they are being followed. This action can lead to prolonged behavior that can ultimately result in safety issues, waste of resources and deviation of process.
