My personal classroom management philosophy is to provide an equal, optimistic, learning environment. I believe the environment should be friendly, and students are all equals with the ability to actively listen to the teacher. The environment should be controlled and disciplined, but not authoritarian . Students are innately curious, disruptive and talkative. Rules will be set in place, however this is a learning environment so we will constantly work on appropriate behavior.
First, it is imperative to get to know the students from the beginning. I will allow my students to write down the classroom rules that they think I will implement and add any rules that the students did not come up with, I will make a big poster with those rules and have all of the students sign a contract. Furthermore, I will be considering the school policies when developing a classroom management plan and use them as the basis system while I create my own. I will stablish clear and consistent boundaries in the class since without those boundaries it is not possible to have a functional classroom. Verbal and non-verbal reinforcements are to be used consistently to keep a positive atmosphere in the classroom.

The teachers are tasked to create an environment where learning can occur and learners have guided accordingly, with appropriate strategies and expectations for an individual situation. The use of space includes seating and furniture arrangements, storage and upkeep of materials, tidiness and the overall color and brightness. An organized physical environment provides learners with resources that are easily accessible, has a set routine, clear behavioral expectations and provides them with a sense of security and that allows them to feel comfortable and confident. Every classroom has its challenges these include lack of resources, varying levels of learner, classroom management, student behavior, misconceptions and unmotivated learners. When dealing with lack of resources being creative and open-minded, sharing ideas and resources with colleagues and brainstorming ideas with students come in handy.
Effective classroom management is an essential component when creating an environment that is conducive to students becoming life-long learners. I believe in order to successfully achieve this type of classroom management there must be guidelines set that establish clear expectations that prevent misbehavior or confusion, acknowledging good behavior with positive reinforcement, and problem solving bad behavior. As a classroom manager it is my duty to present students with clear rules and producers that they will follow throughout the school year. I will engrain these in the students, through classroom discussions, and activities.

A number of ways to establish a safe and supportive learning environment is to stay within what is deemed as conventional rules and disciplines. A typical class room layout is rows of desks and chairs facing the front, it is the usual expected layout for learners and encourages them to accept conformity, something as simple as sitting on the chairs facing the front of the classroom is reassuring to the majority that the class is safe. In days of yesteryear the students would be expected to stand up when the teacher entered the room and wait for permission to be seated, thankfully those days are in the distant past and now it is acceptable to remain talking until the teacher is ready to begin class.
Classroom management is the process by which teachers and schools create and maintain appropriate behavior of students in classroom settings. When classroom-management strategies are executed effectively, teachers minimize the behaviors that impede learning for both individual students and groups of students, while maximizing the behaviors that facilitate or enhance learning. Classroom management is really hard and there are many theorists that talk about it and each is different from the other where each theorist has his/her own ideas and thoughts. Some of them are mentioned below. In Redl and Wattenberg 's theories, they encompass group dynamics, self-control, the pleasure-pain principle, and understanding reality.
A safe and supportive learning environment incorporates various elements. As a teacher, it is a responsibility to meet the majority of these areas, if not all. To begin with, it is important to make sure that all participants are safe and comfortable i.e; • explain what should be done in the event of a fire drill, • times of comfort breaks, • location of smoking areas, if available, • learning support • ground rules, Ground rules should ideally include suggestions by the learners themselves. By making this part of a session interactive it is more likely that the learners will listen and understand what is expected of them. The ground rules should include behaviour, including the use of inappropriate language, and that respect amongst each other and to you as a teacher is a priority.
2. The strength of these philosophies lies in the fact they are all student centered approaches to teaching and learning. I most appreciate the prescriptive nature of the philosophies meaning that they all are attempting to increase learning and decrease behavior issues by establishing roles, routines, and norms of a classroom. I think if I can actively utilize the approaches above, I can create the type of environment that is helpful to both students and still be a place I want to work in. I do not expect that I can do it all the first year, but maybe over time I can bring in more research based applications of classroom management.
