You open a pint of ice cream and think, “I’ll just eat out of the tub, and then I wont have to wash an extra bowl.” The crunch of the chocolate chips, the gooeyness of the caramel ribbon, and the richness of the heavy cream melts in your mouth. You tell yourself you’ll only eat a few bites, but before you know it, you see an empty pint in front of you. A few minutes later your stomach starts to hurt and you’re curled up in the fetal position on your couch. It’s not long before the guilt sets in. This is junk food in a nutshell. It tastes great, but makes you feel not so great. In the book Salt Sugar Fat, Michael Moss describes a concept called the bliss point. Scientists in the food industry have found the perfect amount of salt, sugar, and
