As I walked to my locker recently, I noticed someone had put up the chains representing the number of daily abortions again. These simple paper chains and the signs that accompany them bother me. Abortion is an extremely personal decision and it isn’t a topic that can be easily summed up with a single statistic. I dislike the recent closing of abortion clinics and the focus of politicians on abortion. I don’t understand why the government should make laws regarding how women treat their bodies. I respect opinions about protecting life, but outright banning abortion is detrimental to the health of some women physically and to the mental states of rape victims.
