Scholarship Essay Like many of my fellow high school graduates, I would like to continue pursuing an education into my adulthood. I plan on attending West Hills College Lemoore to finish my general education. After doing so, I will then complete my college education at Fresno Pacific University. I would like to major in Psychology to become a children’s therapist. This scholarship would be an incredible factor in helping me achieve my career goals. All my life, I knew I wanted a career in which I could help those in need. With my education and the career I’m going for, I can use my knowledge to help people who come to me at my place of work as well as the teenagers I am privileged to lead at my local church. It was an experience that was incredibly challenging and one that definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way. It was a definite confidence booster, and helped me make friends whom I know would support me throughout my high school years. Cheering at football games, basketball games, and rallies really brought me happiness and confidence in myself as well as my team. Moving along into my senior year, I knew I could benefit from being apart of something else. I joined Lemoore High’s Tiger Link Crew, which is a program in which we are able to help and mentor freshman in their studies. I was able to take on a position of leadership, which required humbling myself, growing some confidence to talk to them, and a whole lot of patience. Freshman will be freshman; There will be those who are harder to be around than most. I learned eventually that maybe some are going through hard times, so it was not only supporting them in their studies, it was also giving them advice when they asked for it. Being able to lead students also opened my eyes to the fact that as a leader, I myself should be a good example as well.
