The Second Amendment and The Right To Bear Arms The Second Amendment, this Amendment gives Americans the right to bear arms. But recently most Americans have been against citizens owning firearms, especially in the wake of so many recent tragic mass shootings. Gun control is a hot button, and polarizing issue which tends to divide people. However, there's two important questions people are asking. Do we need gun control laws,or should everyone own a gun for self- defense? The goal in this paper is to show why gun control is not the answer. The Second Amendment is not outdated.
