My self-assessment of my current writing status is that I am efficient with relaying my message, however I struggle with using strong phrases and advanced writing. I believe that my strengths in writing are that I am able to finish my writing quickly and effectively. When I sit down to start writing, I have the ability to get all of my thoughts out on paper without encountering any mind blocks. Like I mentioned previously, the general areas that I need to improve on are using strong phrases and high level of writing. I believe that I need to work on my transition phases.
1A – Specific areas for improvement
I have a few specific problem areas for improvement in my writing. For instance, I struggle with the idea of cutting down my ideas and my message. I believe that the underlying reason behind this is that I am afraid of cutting out essential portions of my goal or message. Another specific problem of mine that I need to approve on is not beginning with a strong lead. I have always had a hard time writing thesis for papers and immediately getting the reader involved or interested in what I am writing about. Lastly, my writing could improve by developing a higher level of sophistication. I believe that this will display my understanding of the material and display a higher level of education on my part.

Some realistic items that I would like to address by May 2017 are to create a strong lead with my writing. I believe that with a strong lead, you will draw the readers in and have them engaged in the writing. Ways to do this are by finding ways to relate to the audience. If you can affectively relate to the audience, it will be easier to create a strong lead for my writing. I hope to be at the point where I can get all of my ideas on paper and not reach any kind of writing blocks. I hope to be able to read my audience and connect with them
