Suzanne Collins, the author of the dystopian fiction novel, The Hunger Games displays how the characters are affected by the settings. The two main settings where the characters were impacted the most is the Capitol and the Games Arena. In my opinion, Katniss Everdeen and Rue from District 11 were the most impacted are by the Capitol and the Games Arena.. The main character, Katniss Everdeen, is affected by the setting, the Hunger Games Arena.On page 166 Katniss states, “ I don’t recognize these berries, perhaps they are edible, but I’m guessing this is some evil trick on the part of the Gamemakers.” Katniss has to give up those berries because the Gamemakers could be playing an “evil trick” with her. This “evil trick” is the Gamemakers adding poisonous berries to the arena.
