Some parents and people think when we give them uniforms it takes away their freedom of expression and restricts them from showing who they are. This is wrong. I agree with these students and I wouldn’t want to be forced to wear a uniform either. To begin, parents don’t want to pay the extra money for a school uniform. It’s extremely expensive and the student 's parents have to buy even more appliances on top of that. At first glance, fashion might seem to have very little to do with learning, but as the saying goes, the clothes makes the student. Mandatory uniform policy has made a distinct difference in many schools. School uniforms will keep students focused on their education, not their clothes. If they dress however they want then the students will dress however they want. Students will see the lack of rules in dress from teachers and believe that it is alright to not follow the rules. And it, admittedly, is fun and comforting to dress however your mood is for that day. It is fun to dress up in order to raise your confidence especially when you know that you look good in your outfit and be in good spirits for the day. Fashion is at its peak right now and the cool trends are exciting, but fashion has no place in school where learning and knowledge are the only thing that matters- and should be the only one that matters. It is important to always remember that the fashion statements that are so “in” today aren’t really appropriate in the school setting and can be a distraction, not just to the other students no matter the gender, but to the teachers themselves who try their best to wear appropriate clothing in the classroom and be presentable to the students. As former US president Clinton said, “If it means that the schoolrooms will be more orderly, more disciplined, and that our young people will learn to evaluate themselves by what they are on the inside instead of what they 're wearing on the outside, then our public schools should be able to require their students to wear school uniforms.”
