Nelly's father had perfectly tricked Noyes into a trap with the sheriff. Noyes began to lose his confidence and gain a more uncomfortable composure. Camden blocked off the door, leaving Noyes alone with the sheriff, and Nelly still hidden. The sheriff came out and walked up to Noyes and began to question him and carefully observe his answers. Noyes' heartbeat had began to rise and beats of sweat had started to roll down his forehead. After the sheriff had came to his conclusion of Noyes being an outlaw, he drew his weapon and got out rope and walked towards him and said "I have heard enough, I am going to have to bring you in." Nelly's father got up off the ground and picked Noyes up and began to punch him rapidly. Noyes began to fight back, as Camden pulled out a knife and attempted to stab Noyes, but he evaded it, only catching a slim cut on the arm. However, Camden came right back with a backhand dropping the knife, and leaving Noyes facvedown on the ground. Camden and Nelly were leaving the shed, as Camden shot a barrel of gunpowder, causing a massive blast. Noyes was left inside the burning shed, trying to gain the strength to stand up. Crawling out the front door, the shed blew up behind Noyes. Camden ran towards Noyes and picked him up about to shoot him, as Noyes stabbed him with the knife. Camden began to fall to the ground, as Noyes said to him "This is for what you did to my parents." Nelly began slapping Noyes and screaming at him. Noyes tried to explain to her that Nelly's father had killed his parents, and tried to kill Noyes since he had sworn to vengeance. While Nelly could not forgive Noyes, she had understood his reasoning. Noyes went to the pin and got the steer out to ride off on, as Nelly warned him they may yet meet
