Michael Jordan a professional basketball player who once said “In college I never realized the opportunities available to a pro athlete. I’ve been given the chance to meet all kinds of people, to travel, and expand my financial capabilities, to get ideas and learn about life, to create a world apart from basketball. “If the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) dose pay their athletes, then they could have a better chance to discover what Michael Jordan discovered but earlier in their lives, instead of later. The NCAA is supposed to be helping the students by teaching them life lessons when they are really hurting them, by not giving the athletes all the opportunities in college they deserve.

The NCAA is an elven billion dollar company. Eleven billion is more than the annual revenue of the entire NBA (National Basketball Association) or the NHL (National Hockey League). It should also be noted that this money is not evenly distributed through the players, coaches, and schools. The NCAA remains a non-profit organization. However, each year the NCAA takes in almost eleven billion in revenue across college sports. The biggest earners are football, basketball and baseball programs. The top playing Division I schools contribute more to this figure than many of the lowest members combined. For example, the University of Alabama took in $143.3 million in athletic revenues alone. This figure is not only more than any professional hockey team in the NHL earns but is also more than 25 out of the 30 NBA teams bring in annually as well. It is not wrong to be a non- profit organization, but the money could be distributed to the people that give their heart and soul, to the organization like the players and
