Ayden Long Per.1 Nov. 20, 2015 Should Schools Be Allowed to Limit Students’ Online Speech? Are you aware that some schools are not even that concerned with cyberbullying? There are many different news articles about schools deciding whether they should put a limit on the stuff people say online. Many schools also wonder what restrictions, if any, should schools place on what students say using electronic media? There are three main reasons why I believe schools should limit students’ online speech: disruptions within the school may decrease, teachers may stop quitting their jobs, and less harassment towards other students may occur. One reason why schools should limit students’ online speech is because constant disruptions may decrease during school hours. Evidence supporting this reason is according to document d, general “rumblings” were occurring as well as kids constantly interrupted their classes because they spent their time talking about the cyberbullying that had happened quite recently. This evidence helps explain why schools should limit students’ online speech because less disruptions would occur at which students would be able to learn what their teacher is trying to teach them without some rude interruption …show more content…

Evidence of this is that according to document b, most teachers that have been cyberbullied lost nothing at all or lost confidence and self esteem which would lead to them believing that they are not good at teaching students and think that they should quit their jobs. This evidence helps explain why schools should limit students’ online speech because if less teachers started quitting their jobs, then the school wouldn’t have to worry about hiring more teachers to educate their students as well as the teachers wouldn’t feel bad and may think they are good at
