A leader is a person with the power or the ability to lead others, this relates to being a hero because a hero cannot do all work on their own. A hero must have help from others who are willing to follow them and help them with their final goal. This is shown is John C. Maxwell’s quote “A leader is someone who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”. What he means is that someone who is considered a leader can know the right path, and be able to help someone else on that same path, and continue on that path with that person.
Being a leader involves many different characteristics. A leader must set the example for all others in the group, because if they are to show up late to practice, there isn’t a reason that any of the other members should not do the same. Who takes all member’s ideas into consideration, makes sure all are heard, and keeps a group in order while still taking into account what the group wants.
A key characteristic of a quiet leader is that they listen more than they talk, which is a very positive thing as people will feel as if their opinions matter, and that will make them feel good about themselves. Trust is built up within the group once everyone feels like they are being treated fairly, so even when something doesn’t go their way, they still have the reassurance that it was fair because of they way the leader listened. Often, quiet leaders show concern for others, for example, putting other people’s needs before theirs. Quiet leaders seem to appear as very strong leaders today. What makes a leader? I believe a leader to be intelligent ,tough, and has the determination to achieve a goal. Having certain skills will have an impact on you being a trustable leader. I was taught that if you do not have a reason behind your leading and your heart is not in it, People can see that and will be reluctant to follow you. Having a passion and drive for what you are doing will motivate you and the people you are leading. I feel this is so very crucial for a leader. I would not want to follow someone who is not driven to get better and help others. I was able to learn about how she has been able to improve herself and hope to do same.
