Comparing the justice system of Canadian with the United States legal systems we find some similarities as well differences in the form of the legal system. However, viewing the Canadian criminal justice system it is somewhat separate in its combined judicial legal system where all the courts share the same system to include Canada’s Supreme Court which has the final decision authority throughout Canada. On the other hand, the United States has two parallel and independent judicial systems. The federal judicial system applies to federal law where the state judicial system is independent at the state level.
The United States utilizes dual court system in their courts. This means that there is a separate jurisdiction for each state, but each of those jurisdictions fall under the federal court jurisdiction (Bohm & Haley, 2011). The state court process begins in a trial court of limited jurisdiction. It would then move to a trial court of general jurisdiction and if appealed, into an Intermediate court of appeals. In the federal courts, a case would begin in the district court, then move into the circuit court of appeals if necessary.

The first difference between Primary school in Italy and in Finland is the duration. In Italy is recognised as “primary school” the school period from six to eleven years old, instead in Finland the basic education is a longer process that starts at the age of seven and least until the age of sixteen. That doesn’t mean that in Italy the basic education least less, but the study course is divided in more parts: the end of the compulsory education is for both countries when the child is sixteen years old, but in Finland the basic education is a continuous, organic process, in Italy there is a distinction between the first five years of primary school and the second three years of middle school (first degree secondary school). Nazi Germany is the common name for the German Reich from 1933 to 1945 with Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in command. Fascist Italy is the era of National Fascist Party rule from 1922 to 1943 with Benito Mussolini as the totalitarian ruler. Under Hitler’s rule, Germany was transformed into a fascist dictatorial state that controlled all aspects of life. The fascists, in Italy, imposed totalitarian rule and crushed the political and intellectual opposition. With this being said, there are other similarities and differences between Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.
The United States judicial branch consists of Supreme Court Justices, appointed by the President, that serve for life and decide if laws are constitutional or if people broke the law. The Roman judicial branch consisted of Praetors, appointed by the assemblies, that served for one year that tried to ensure justice to all people. America’s criminal justice system need to make a change. We are constantly wasting millions of dollars on prison cells that won’t even be needed if they gave citizens who broke the law quick and easy punishments. In our society today many youths are being sentenced harsh punishments due to petty crimes, these harsh punishments include five or more years in prisons. Our criminal justice system is just plain corrupted and unreasonable. Judges show give fast punishments which are less severe to citizens who has broke small laws.
A complex organization of Federal and State governmental divisions establishes the US Legal System. Every state has its own court system, plus the federal government one, fifty-two in total. Each state has its own constitution, governmental structure, legal codes and judiciary system.
Many are not aware about either jurisdictions between states and federal courts within criminal cases. Frequently, attorneys have the decision between filling a complaint in either state or federal because of synchronized jurisdictions. Throughout this essay will be addressing federal and state jurisdictions in criminal cases. In addition, we will be discussing how supremacy clause of the U.S Constitution may affect jurisdiction, why we have so many different court jurisdictions for criminal offenses. Lastly, conclude with describing whether or not the plethora of jurisdiction either enhances or detracts from the imposition of justice.
In the United States, the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. Within the Constitution, a federal system of government has been created where power is shared between the federal and state governments in which both have their own court systems as well as laws (Gluck, 2014). The constitution created two parallel criminal justice systems which add a complexity to the system as a whole (Neubauer & Fradella, 2014). Although it may appear there are two separate court systems, there is actually fifty-two court systems which are made up of the fifty state courts, the local court system of the District of Columbia and the federal court system (Neubauer & Fradella, 2014). German residents are extremely upset about the Treaty of Versailles since they have to pay an enormous amount of money called reparations. Germany claims that it is too much as the country is very poor at the moment since there aren’t many jobs and the prices of food and basic necessities are quite high. Thus, the Germans were unhappy with the government and so they voted for a horrible man named Adolf Hitler who has guaranteed to seek revenge and completely tear apart the Treaty of Versailles. He unfortunately became Chancellor of Germany on 30th January, 1933 and has been causing massive problems ever since. He was also announced as the “Fuhrer” which means leader, and became the dictator of Germany.
In the criminal justice system, there are three major components. They are the police, the courts, and the corrections. Each one of the components has a role to play in the system. The police are in charge of arresting and investigating crimes. The courts are charged with the responsibility of punishing offenders while the corrections implement the court rulings.
Acting as the team leader during my clinical shift was both enjoyable and overwhelming all at the same time. With this being my last semester of nursing school, I have grown into my role and responsibilities as a student nurse caring for a single patient. Being given the opportunity to act as team leader for a day was an incredibly different experience. I did not have any patients of my own. Instead, I had to get prepped on all the patients of my class mates.
