Introduction Over the past years the methods to look for a job have changed significantly. Although networking, word of mouth, and print ads remain used and are useful methods, most people now rely on the internet and technology to apply for different jobs (Dessler 2011). In order to maintain good employees Human Recourses should plan to promote internal candidates as often as possible (Dessler 2011).

The two occupations O*NET found that fit my skills, interests, and experience level desired are Social Worker and Patient Representative. I agree that I would be good at both occupations. The following are the skills, experience, likes, and interests.
• Twenty years experience working with people in the medical field
• I care and love working with people
• Good listening skills
• Knowledge of community services and resources available for individuals

As a HR professional, I would use O*NET for the following to:
• develop effective job descriptions quickly and easily,
• expand the pool of quality candidates for open positions,
• define employee and/or job-specific success factors,
• align organizational development with workplace needs,
• refine recruitment and training goals, and
• design competitive compensation and promotion systems (O*NET). Two of the things I learned about job analysis are that it helps management select the best candidates for the job and also to make the right decisions at the times of promotions.
I definitely will be using this website not only does it have current information about different jobs, but it has so much information regarding what current skills are required for each occupation.
