South Korea Study Abroad Application Essay

The South Korea study abroad program will give me the chance to explore film production on a professional level for the first time, which is a pivotal goal of mine. I am an extreme novice in this field, with my only experience being the occasional and casual video logging of small adventures with friends within my native hub of NYC. As such, I am eager to acquire techniques and critical knowledge during my time at South Korea as I actively participate in work behind the scenes, ranging from operating various cameras to editing video content. While abroad, being able to reflect on and build upon my original, individual perspective is one of the primary goals I wish to achieve. As my American peers, Korean peers, and I share our different opinions throughout the entire production process, I hope that we can not only receive the benefit of better understanding one another but also receive the benefit of collectively inspiring one another in a positive light. Since I am a naturally introverted person who is familiar with working independently most of the time, working in groups can benefit me in various ways of which working by myself may not provide.
