Good morning to ladies and gentlemen, it my great pleasure welcome to Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Hospital Serdang. First and foremost I would like to introduce about myself. I’m J.Kokila Vani Jegatheesan training manager in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Hospital Serdang. I have joined for almost 10 years as part of training in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. In a busy shift, nurse has to sacrifice break time. Nurses will have a long list where they are responsible and have to make fast decision for patient care and well being. Nurses have to learn how to managed time at working hour effectively as to reduce stress burden and provide quality care. Time management is a process of planning and organizing the amount of time spent on specific activities. Well, what is the benefit of join these programs? First nurses will benefit in improving time management and will become efficient nurse. Nurses able to attend needs of more patients in fewer time frames where they able to complete the basic care needs that take less time. Second nurses able know how to do things quickly to save a life patients life while plan their schedule. Example nurses learn how to write quickly in a busy ward environment. Third, good time management is a big stress relief for nurses who working in a high –paced environment like hospitals. This program will benefit nurses as able to know how to prioritize task and keeping routine work in track. Example before follow round with medical officer, making a checklist of the task need to do for patient will help to prioritize task and able to complete within the time frame. Communication is an intrinsic characteristic of human body which has content and value. It is an ongoing process. Communication is not only to transmit information and knowledge to one another but to relate one another as human beings around the world in context relationship. Effective communication plays a vital role through a patient entire healthcare. Nurse’s greatest challenge and most vital task is communication. Nurses must communicate from admission, in treatment and discharge phase. Nurses are responsible to deliver information where communication must be clear. According Communication in Nursing Practice, a research paper stated nurses who demonstrate courtesy, kindness and security through and action and words are generally establishing a good rapport. Good communication skill needed to help facilitate positive flow of communication and positivity the treatment process. This ongoing communication program will mainly teach and provide a positive impact among nurse as improve ability to inform and persuade. More over this program will teach nurses a practical technique to enable staff to assemble thought and communicate with the patients in hospitals. Example learns how to approach different scenarios.
