Hello, today is the day we celebrate our time at St. Mary’s whether it is since preschool or for one year that we have been going to school here. We will always remember our time here at St. Mary’s and how much we have grown in our faith and academics. No matter when we started at the School of St. Mary we have all changed in some way from becoming a better leader, growing in our faith, and/or becoming better in our academics St. Mary’s has changed all of us in many positive ways. I am Elizabeth Lyon and I am honored to be speaking before you today. I have attended the School of St. Mary since 2nd grade, and the School of St. Mary has helped me to grow in my faith and thrive in my academics. Before St. Mary’s, I was an average student, but St. Mary’s has helped to teach me responsibility. Responsibility is the ability to act independently and make decisions. We have all been taught how to figure problems out on our own and become independent which has helped me to become a better student. Our teachers come in early for us and work until the last student understands what we are studying. I remember doing schoolwork and wondering why do I have to do this, but I realize now that all of those projects and tests in past years have prepared me for eighth grade, and everything we have done this year will prepare us for high school and the future. St. Mary’s has helped me to grow in my faith and I am sure many others would agree with me. From reading the Bible to notes with Mrs. Romano we have learned a lot about God and what choices to make. We also have prayed during school and gone to Adoration weekly in Latin. Our school helps us to grow in our faith so in the future when we are independent we stay as strong practicing
