At a recent conference, the speaker challenged the audience “to set goals we have no idea how to achieve.” I decided that is a pretty good motto and one I embrace as I write to you now to express my interest in the CSR Manager position. Hasbro clearly understands that its business has impact on the communities in which it operates and has wisely embraced CSR as a business strategy. Likewise, I believe that investing in solutions to environmental and social issues is good for business, and this belief underpins the approach I take to all my work.
As a sustainability consultant, program manager and engineer, I bring a breadth of technical experience along with practical leadership skills that can help Hasbro continue to reduce its environmental footprint, maximize social benefits, and create economic opportunity for Hasbro and its stakeholders. The combination of my professional and volunteer work has given me an awareness of the connections between the manmade and natural environments and, more importantly, an understanding of the effect of those connections on the places in which we live and work. As a business developer and program manager, I’ve honed the skill and discretion to engage stakeholders of all types to identify business risks and uncover assumptions to discover opportunity for improvement. I have found that the right partnerships – born of effective stakeholder engagement – are critical to achieving goals, and make for compelling success stories.
