In the field of education there is going to be multiple things that you as a teacher are going to have to worry about. One of the things that you are going to have to deal with is standardized testing. Standardized testing is one of the things that teachers and students worry about. Standardized testing in my opinion is not as important as others make it out to be. Multiple things are wrong with standardized testing, such as, stressing out younger students, unfair to non-English speakers and students with special needs, also standardized tests are an imprecise measure of teacher performance but the test scores are used to punish and reward teachers. Standardized tests cause students to stress out for multiple different reasons. Students are aware that if they do not do their best on the test they might have to stay back a year, they might cause the teacher to have consequences for not teaching the students well. This is giving the children anxiety about the test and may cause further problems in the future. Standardized tests were made so that each and every student would get the education they needed to be successful. The standardized tests are said to be equal for each and every student. With special education students they might would need help with some of the content that was in the test but the teacher could not help them because teachers can not help while in the testing area. Students who are non-English speakers will have a hard time taking the test as well because they may be able to read what is being stated but, they may not understand the full meaning. This is especially important because if they do not understand the question they will not be able to answer the question
